This piece was developed in Procreate, focusing on a "painterly" aesthetic that mimics traditional oil on canvas. I utilized textured impasto brushes to create thick, visible strokes in the foreground wildflowers, providing a sense of physical depth. The subject, a young deer, is captured in a three-quarter view to emphasize its alert yet calm demeanor. I chose a vibrant palette of cerulean, sage, and violet to contrast the warm, tan coat of the deer, aiming to capture that specific "spark" in the eye that bridges the gap between viewer and wildlife.
