The Gentle Breath of Spring

In this piece, I sought to capture the ethereal quality of filtered light. Using a technique of broken color, I applied dabs of lavender and soft yellow to the grass to simulate the vibrating heat of a late afternoon. The figure is treated with classical restraint, focusing on the rhythmic flow of the cream-colored fabric rather than sharp anatomical lines. I utilized heavy impasto on the foreground wildflowers to create a tactile sense of depth, contrasting with the smooth, atmospheric transitions of the distant blue hills.
